Job Description:
Help strengthen our Canadian Forces! Calian is currently seeking a full-time Physiotherapy Assistant to work at CFB Edmonton. Many Canadian Forces (CF) members have endured musculoskeletal injury during training and while on deployment. As the Physiotherapy Assistant you will assist in rehabilitating our CF members by providing support to Physiotherapists in the delivery of physiotherapy services that emphasize prevention, education, consultation, evaluation and initiative that improve treatment services to CF Members.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Assisting:
   - With the evidence based treatment of authorized patients, who have a variety of orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, ergonomic, neurological, respiratory, pre and post surgical conditions within the scope of practice of Physiotherapy Assistants.
   - In the provision of safe and effective care through patient education, the supervision of patient's performance in therapeutic exercises and assisting with patient transfers.
   - With the appropriate sizing of basic orthopedic equipment, such as crutches, canes, splints, slings, supports and non-complex devices, and assists with related education and ambulation.
   - The Physiotherapist with the development, production and presentation of preventative education/health promotion and rehabilitation exercise programs for patients.
- Reporting observations and evaluations to the Physiotherapist to ensure appropriate, safe patient treatment progression; discussing treatment plans, patient status, and outcomes with the Physiotherapist.
- Documenting each client visit, assessment, finding and intervention using CF Physiotherapy Charting Standards.
- Maintaining and monitors orthopaedic equipment loan cards; participates in equipment monitoring, maintenance and cleaning to ensure fully operational and functional.

Mandatory Qualifications:
- Diploma from a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant program
- Demonstrated experience as Physiotherapy Assistant

Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in the delivery of physiotherapy services in the Canadian Forces Health Services Environment
