2 year Apprenticeship
This provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to work as an apprentice on our ICT Helpdesk team, assisting our users particularly during the forthcoming upgrade to Windows 7. The team provides essential front line support for the Council’s PC’s, answering telephone calls and working with users to rectify ICT problems, using diagnostic skills and tools. The council desktop environment is currently Windows XP and Office 2003, moving to Windows 7 and Office 2010 in 2012/2013.
Applicants must have a GSCE or equivalent in both English and Maths and have a genuine interest in computing. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated individual with good communication skills, who can work well on their own and as part of a small team. The successful candidate will learn to install and support PC’s, printers, software, and networks, to the authority’s standards, whilst undertaking an appropriate course of study at Herts Regional College.
