Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this role is to function as a highly skilled and experienced practitioner within a Children’s Social Care Team. This includes providing day-to-day support and advice to social care staff to ensure that high quality services are delivered.
You will need to enable and support the delivery of these services in an efficient and effective manner, and in accordance with departmental principles and procedures. You will also be required to assist the Team Manager in service development, Safeguarding procedures, professional supervision and in certain aspects of management.
As well as setting the standard for colleagues to follow, you will supervise the work of other members of the team and actively coach, mentor and develop them.
Person Specification
Must have / be:
GSCC registered
Advanced social work qualification for a specific client group
A full driving licence with access to a car
Proven ability to manage complex casework
Evidence of supervisory experience
Demonstrable post qualifying experience

Ability to build sound and productive working relationships with colleagues, partners and staff groups and can engage others in a credible, persuasive way.
Ability to plan projects and tasks in a structured way, monitoring progress against plans and can embed these into working practice.
Able to make best use of resources, effectively managing budgets, information and contract letting taking into account health and safety issues.
