Job Description
Responsible for sending all claims daily and effectively working the claims error report.
Responsible for sending out patient statements weekly. Responsible for running balance control
report prior to running statements.
Responsible for sending secondary paper claims out as soon as primary carrier pays.
Responsible for all functions that involve and affect reimbursement for assigned payers.
Functions performed include managing the payment of all claims, accountable for aging AR
results, posting payments and communicating with assigned payer.
Reports all non-paid procedures due to medical necessity or bundling to Supervisor for review.
Issues insurance refund requests as recognized during posting and working reports.
Responsible for keeping abreast of reimbursement issues associated with assigned payers and
communicating this information back to the organization.
Answer calls on Billing and Insurance phone line to assist patients with questions regarding
account information.
Run assigned reports regularly to assure overall billing, claim and payment functions.
Responsible for obtaining referrals for assigned payers.
Post all patient payments received in the mail.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
To have a thorough follow-up of all IP & OP outstanding payments from the Insurance companies & Corporate Companies..
To possess effective communications skills, greater degree of patience and perseverance,
decision making ability, enthusiasm to work hard, judgment, alertness to the situation & desire
to excel.
To report to the chairman, MD &GM on a daily basis.
To be trust worthy to maintain the confidentially of the trade practices of the institution.
To clear bottlenecks as per the priority.
To strictly ensure that all specific routine jobs are met in deadlines.
To have a through knowledge of Medical Terminology, English typing, MS Office and ability to
correspond and draft letters independently.
