The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for implementing and executing all aspects of Seasonal Specialties Quality Assurance program in Asia.
Makes sure that products and services are safe for public use, meet standards set by the company, and our customers, and adhere to any required government/UL/CSA regulations for electrical and decorative items. You will need to be familiar with the company's entire range of products and services to supervise effectively.
Proactive problem solver who takes initiative and ownership of all matters involving quality assurance.
Assures consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practices; providing documentation; managing and training QC staff throughout Asia and communicating with U.S. office.
Must work closely and collaborate with our factories, Asia team members and US team members to maintain the quality and design intent through the manufacturing process.
The QA Manager is expected to:
1. Implement all quality initiatives.
2.Train all Seasonal Inspectors on methods of inspection, and work with factory QC to improve their performance and bring them to the same level as Seasonal and our customers required.
3.Provide direction to all inspectors on expected safety, quality, and appearance of products.
4.Confirm and validate that all direction provided to inspectors is clearly understood and executed at the field level by continuous monitoring (field supervisory visits) and follow up.
5.Proactive and immediate action taken on any nonconformance affecting safety, appearance or product specifications.
6.Prepares quality documentation and reports for Sr. Management (U.S. Home office) by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and reporting on a regular basis.
7.Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.
8.Validates and continually improves quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
9.Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
10.Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
11.Works with US team to ensure all customer testing requirements are met through 3rd party labs.
12.Analyze customer service calls to identify product improvement opportunities. Work with product managers on potential product improvements.
Required experience, knowledge and skill sets:
1. Ideally 10 years' experience in quality control / assurance, and 5 years as a manager in manufacturing within consumer products industry.
2. Managerial experience with multiple direct reports (QC Inspection team).
3. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (fluent in English language is a must).
5. Experienced in Total Quality Management (TQM) practices and techniques.
6. Proficient in Process Improvement.
7. Able to analyze Information with attention to detail and a thorough approach to performing work.
8. Must be able to travel within Asia (China, Philippines, etc.) and to the USA.
9. Must have proven computer skills in email, Word and Excel.
