Community Day Services Team for Adults with Learning Disabilities
An opportunity has arisen to work within a joint team setting within the Community Day Services Team, for the above position. The early starting time is essential to maintain the smooth running of the transport schedule, which collects service users from home and takes them to their various destinations.
The post requires the following skills:
•As the first point of contact understanding of planning weekly transport schedules/duty system is essential.
•Ability to communicate effectively with adults with a learning disability and their carers who may be from diverse ethnic communities.
•Excellent IT skills, e.g. Word, Excel, (inc. databases) Group wise and the ability to create easy read documents
•Ability to be able use SAP EBP to raise requisitions.
•To be able to provide a variety of admin skills to 4 teams, including minute taking, statistical returns, maintaining database.
Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualities at a level that is appropriate to this post:
•A good understanding of the social and care needs of adults with a learning disability based on experience of working in a health, social care, or community setting. (Transferable skills will be taken into account)
•Effective verbal and written communication skills
•Good networking and team skills.
•Effective Partnership work with a range of providers in the community.
•A committed Person Centred approach to supporting service users to reach their full potential
•A relevant professional qualification, where indicated.
•Full time working times are 8.45am-4.30pm
•Minimum of 2years experience of having worked within community based or day services provisions for adults with learning disabilities.
•Knowledge and experience in Brokerage service
•You will need to have some knowledge of the Valuing Peoples agenda including Brokerage and work with people with an individualised budget.
