Our client is a highly successful family owned manufacturing organisation. Due to sustained growth, our client is seeking to appoint an experienced Accounts Officer to join their finance team. This dynamic role will involve interfacing with all business units and export markets to achieve payment and receipt of funds; and to provide support to the finance department on payment of accounts and processing of payroll/data through the Company’s ERP system.
In addition the Accounts Officer will be responsible for manipulating data and producing reports to provide information to other parts of the business. In doing so, the Accounts Officer will reduce and maintain debtor days, reduce exposure to cash flow risk, and enable efficient and effective business maintenance in line with corporate compliance requirements.
Reporting to the Financial Accountant and working as part of a team, you will be a highly diligent individual who follows company policy and relevant statutory requirements in order to deliver timely results.
To achieve these objectives you will be responsible for:
Developing and maintaining relationships with internal/external providers
Preparing and processing payment of customer rebates and agents commission
Managing debtors by analysing integrity of data, liaising with customers who fall outside the Company’s trading terms, and making recommendations on potential stop credit list and appropriate legal action to be taken
Assisting in the prompt processing and payment of all creditors
Performing daily banking and reconciliations
Assisting with the completion of the Company audit
Providing “backup” to the weekly payroll personnel
Posting of superannuation payments to appropriate general ledger classification
Preparing timely and accurate reports
The successful applicant will have:
Minimum 5 years experience in accounts payable, receivable and payroll
Previous experience working with an ERP system in a manufacturing environment
Accounting qualification or currently working towards
Well developed computer skills, particularly MS Excel
The successful applicant will be customer focussed and have a high degree of attention to detail. Focused on achieving results, you will consistently achieve deadlines whilst maintaining open communication with all parties. A strong team player you will actively assist others to achieve the departmental goals. An ability to analyse and draw inferences from financial data you will proactively identify key issues and implement solutions that are commercially sound and that will drive efficiencies.
